A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2,86 cm) in height consisting of a laurel wreath in shades of green and entwined by a yellow motto scroll doubled silver gray on the turning side and inscribed UNDERSTANDING in silver letters at the bottom. All enclosing an area of dark blue overlaid with a stylized, silver weighing scale in true balance.
The weighing scale defines the mission of the Center, to measure and evaluate with objectivity. The wreath stands for honor, integrity and standards for quality. The ribbon (motto scroll) represents the weaponry and defense systems that are evaluated by the Center. The blue background in the center represents the truth. The motto Understanding signifies that a thorough understanding of the acquisition process is critical to the Center in accomplishing its mission.
The distinctive unit insignia was approved effective 1 October 1999.
